30 miles out in the Atlantic Ocean sits the beautiful island of Nantucket. Being secluded so far out to sea allows for our waters to be cleaner than the rest of the continental United States and the cleaner the water, the greater the oyster.  This is why we say “It takes a Great Harbor to grow a great oyster”.
