Growing up on the deck of his father lobster boat, the 35 foot “Toni C”, (named after Chucks beloved mother), its safe to say Chuck was drawn to the ocean at an early age. Being a commercial scalloper all winter was great, but he dreamed of having a job that could keep him on the water all year. Eventually he made it happen. He’ll be the first to admit he was lucky when he got the town to issue him an aquaculture lease to grow oysters. Since that time it has grown into what is now “Great Harbor Oysters”. What started out as a some what small operation has turned into a sizable enterprise. Having applied for and been granted an increase in acreage twice since it’s start, Great Harbor Oysters is now a thriving family run farm with an emphasis on growing a top shelf quality oyster.
